October 15-22, 2006 The Netherlands

WELCOME,

Like the waves rippling out from a stone thrown into water, the waves of the work with organizational constellations and systemic work in organizations continue to have a lasting impact on more and more people as they spread out around the world.

Recent developments in this field have led to significant newinsights being made about how organizations grow and developmost successfully. Skilful use of organization constellations canreveal hidden dynamics at work within an organization in sucha way that they become instantly recognisable to those workingin that organisation. Complex issues, such as organizational structure, leadership and the giving of genuine and appropriate recognitionto employees, can be resolved quite simply and sometimessurprisingly suddenly.

Business owners, managers and consultants, faced by challenges of every kind within their organisations, are becoming increasingly intrigued by the elegant solutions that organization constellationsand systemic thinking can offer them.

The idea of organising an international training intensive that would be specifically focussed on organization constellations andthe systemic thinking that informs them, grew out of a seedbed ofgrowing excitement about and enthusiasm for what organization constellations can actually offer and the explorations that haveresulted from this excitement.

In this Intensive training we will be bringing together both themost renowned and successful trainers in the field of organization constellations and those who want to learn about what organizationconstellations actually consist of and what this specific formof constellations can do. It will be a concentrated week of training, lectures, exercises and ‘theory'.

The first International Organization Constellations Training Intensive (IOCTI) in October 2004 was a great success. One hundred participants from 31 countries all over the world met for an intensive week of training. New contacts developed between the participants; countries and people got connected together and have stayed in touch after this event. In 2006 our aim is to have this international organization constellations network expand and develop even further.

Those taking part in making this vision come true will have a chance to learn from a team of true professionals in a new, and rapidly growing, field of expertise. They will come away with deeper insights about the systemic approach and a much greater feeling and sensitivity for just how organization constellations work in helping us understand the functioning of organizations.

There will also be plenty of opportunity, for those taking part in the training intensive, to share their own experiences of working with and within organizations in countries from all over the world with others. And, as a finishing touch, this second international training intensive in organization constellations will take place just outside Amsterdam, in a beautiful, scenic seaside resort, set against the sand dunes of the Dutch coast.

training goals

The primary goal of the training intensive is for those who are presently working in the field of organization development to obtain a clear understanding of how this particular, systemic perspective on organisations is used to facilitate effective organisational change and evolution. The participants will also receive training during the week in how to use organization constellations in their own field of work.

This goal will be achieved by focusing participants' attention on the following:

structure of the training intensive

As a participant in the Training Intensive you will have a chance to learn these principles and practices through observing and reviewing demonstrations of organisation constellations, handson exercises, presentations on the theoretical principles that inform this approach, and an examination of the development of organisation constellations and the insights gained from this way of working.

You will be able to watch well-known trainers working with issues brought to the group by Dutch managers and C.E.O.'s.You may also have the opportunity to practice the art of systemic coaching or be able to facilitate smaller or more complex constellations under the supervision of one of the trainers.

The various evening workshops and lectures will ensure you take home with you a much deeper understanding and experience of the state-of-the-art principles used in organization constellation work.

Although the training is intended to be intense there will still be plenty of time made available to meet colleagues of many different nationalities, in an informal atmosphere, to hear about their experiences of working with organizations and to learn more about how organization constellation work is used in different countries.

To be taken into service

A common pattern we observe in organizations is that a team will repeat a conflict that has remained unresolved at another level in the organization. This may happen even when the members of the team have no intention to repeat this conflict and may not even be aware that this is what they are doing. An indication that this pattern is at work in a team is when the members of a team and their boss find themselves, again and again, ending up in the same field of tension, despite wanting to do their best to resolve any conflict and actually spending time and energy on coming to a resolution.

three learning tracks

You will be given the opportunity to choose the learning track that best fits your experience and wishes:

Learning about basics and applying systemic principles and interventions in your work

Learning to facilitate different forms of organization constellations and to apply constellations in an organizational context

A supervision track for experienced organisational constellation facilitators to deepen systemic insights and help them understand their own role and attitude as organisation constellation facilitators

Participants in each learning level will have a training program

designed for their specific experience and learning goals. Each learning track group will have a resident facilitator, a so called‘red-thread person' for the whole week to ensure that the learning opportunities for both the group and the individuals in the group are best met.

Each learning track group will meet several trainers during the course of the week to be able to learn from their varied experiences of organisation constellation work and from their own particular style of working with organization constellations.

There will also be an evening program consisting of either:

workshops on specific organization themes that are open to participants from all three learning tracks,

or ‘white space' informal events – with chances to talk to colleagues and to network and make those personal connections that are so important to us in our lives in this field.

for whom is the training intensive intended?

This training is designed specifically for people who have significant experience working in organizations or in the field of organizational development of both profit and non-profit organizations:

Within this general category there will be those who, at present, have little knowledge of organization constellations or the systemic view of organisations, those who will have a certain amount of knowledge and yet others who will already be quite experienced

and knowledgeable in this area. The total number of participants invited to join the training will be between 100 and 120.

One of our main goals for this training is to create a rich mixture of nationalities by offering people from many countries the possibility to participate. Inevitably this will mean placing restrictions on the number of places made available for certain nationalities. If it turns out that there are more people applying from your country than there are places allocated to your country those applicants who send in applications after your country's ‘quota' is full will be placed on a waiting list.

language

The training intensive will be conducted in English. A pre-requisite for participation is that you have an adequate grasp of the English language. Although no professional interpreters will be available we will make sure that, by cooperating together, every participant feels supported in understanding what is being said and in feelingfree to express him- or herself.
